More about WhatsApp Messenger

WhatsApp Messenger is the most popular cross-platform internet messaging app the world uses to communicate, share multimedia, and transfer files. WhatsApp is arguably the best chat app that instantly lets you share images, videos PDFs, and all sorts of other file formats.

Key components of WhatsApp include Video and Voice Calls with its ability to host group video calls. The company claims that all its voice and data services shared via its platform are 100% secure via its end-to-end encryption feature.

The best thing about what makes it so big is its Enormous global user base, which is the app’s ability to instantly share data. Encrypted messaging enables you to have a secure personal chat or large group chat with multiple members. Group messaging and its pro tools enable you to engage with many people easily. Voice calling. Supports media attachments.

Note: People you want to communicate with must have this app installed and a working internet connection.

You can create a group and can add as many people as you want. Media shared in the group will be visible to all the group members. Another interesting functionality is that it has a built-in image compressor with which your image will be automatically compressed to make sharing the image easier. You may also join groups created by other people if you’re invited to join.

New WhatsApp Features update 2024

WhatsApp’s search for messages by date feature is becoming available for Android phones. Just go to the chat window –> click on the profile –> tap on ‘Search’ –> the search box will appear on the chat window. To look for messages by date, select the calendar icon just above the on-screen keyboard and choose the date and month.

WhatsApp is working on a feature to mute calls from unknown numbers. You will still be able to see them in the calls list and notification center, which makes it much easier to take care of unwanted callers on the go.

The company also released a new update for the Android beta app that brings a split view feature to the tablet version of the app. This new feature is a game-changer for users as it optimizes tablet interface.

WhatsApp released a new phone number privacy feature for community members, which is available after installing the most recent update of WhatsApp for Android. Users can now react to messages without revealing their phone numbers.

Meta recently rolled out a feature to search messages by date, channel alerts, and hidden navigation labels on Android.

Voice Status, Channel Alerts, and Status rings

Its latest Voice Status feature allows users to send a voice message in the form of status updates to their contacts. To use the feature, head over to the ‘Status’ tab on WhatsApp and select the ‘pencil’ icon at the bottom. On the next screen, tap on the ‘microphone’ icon and start recording your voice message for up to 30 seconds.

The “channel alerts” feature was designed to improve the overall user experience for channel administrators by providing real-time insights about the suspension of their channels, along with the ability to restore the channel by sending a request to WhatsApp.

Users will now be able to see the statuses of their contacts from the chat screen itself. This is indicated by a green ring on the profile picture which the users can tap on to directly view the status. The feature is rolled out on Android with the version 2.23.2.76 of this app.

The better user interface on Tablets

It provides a better experience on a larger screen, and users can now simultaneously view and use two different sections of the app side by side on their tablet screen.

The company has also given group admins some new powers. Group admins on WhatsApp will be able to remove messages from everyone’s chats. Till now, only senders were allowed to delete their messages. But now the admin will have full control.

The platform is adding voice waveforms for voice notes and group calls. Plus some new UI changes to the calling screen designs. The changes in the design are quite minimal but they provide a refreshed look to the user.

Plus the platform will support file transfer of up to 2 gigabytes so people can easily collaborate on a project. Currently, WhatsApp only allows 100MB of file sharing in one go.

You will soon be able to react with images to WhatsApp messages. The same way you do on Instagram and Facebook. The preview of the feature was allegedly spotted by WABetaInfo. The feature will reportedly be dubbed message reaction and allow users to react to a message using six emojis.

New Features in Voice Messages.

You can now pause and resume voice messages while recording them. WhatsApp users will be able to see a new pause option when they start to record a voice message in hands-free mode. Till now, users had to re-record a voice message in case of any disruption.

In the latest feature release, users can listen to their recorded voice messages before sending them. Until now, users only had the option to directly record and send voice messages without hearing them first. The feature will work alongside the new pause and resume feature for voice message recording.

And for those who send out a lot of voice messages, you now have the option to play voice messages at 1.5x or 2x speeds and listen to them faster. A new 1x speed button is now near the voice message player. You can tap on the new button to change the playback speed of any voice message.

Privacy Control with WhatsApp

WhatsApp added some latest privacy settings such as the fingerprint lock for its Android app. This security is only enabled on devices with sensors and Android version 6.0 or above.

To set up this go to Account > Privacy and scroll down. At the bottom, you will find an option to lock. Once enabled you can set the timer to prompt the lock. Users can still answer calls without unlocking and can enable or disable the preview sender and message text inside the message notification bar. All this and more information you can find on WhatsApp privacy.

Improved Chat Security

WhatsApp has rolled out a chat lock feature for Android and iOS that allows you to add a fingerprint lock or Face ID, in the case of an iPhone to private and group chats. To enable chat lock.
