Xposed Installer

The XPOSED Installer is an app that you use to mod your rooted phone. Think of it as a game where you can download additional patches to improve the experience. XPOSED offers these “mods” to adjust the software on your phone. Custom ROMs like CynanogenMOD can also offer additional features and tweaks.  XPOSED uses your existing software and adds to what is already there, instead of replacing 09`your software entirely.

The actual XPOSED Framework is something that modifies the internal system. Allowing these ‘mods’ to be injected into the operating system. As you are experimenting with the root and the internal workings of Android, so be careful. In rare cases, installing a package from the repository may be incompatible with your phone model. Most of the time, nothing will happen but there is a possibility of a boot loop.

Don’t overuse the Xposed Installer

Overusing Xposed Installer and over-optimizing your phone might cause it to slow down. Depending on your device, you may have access to a wide range of tweaks in the Xposed Installer. There are 2 tweak types which are visual tweaks and internal tweaks. Most of the visual tweaks are designed for  Nexus models and Google Play Edition phones. The visual mods often adjust colors, layouts, and themes.

Internal tweaks are normally device-specific, but they often offer more universal device support. A classic example of an internal tweak is SNAPPREFS.
