More about UC News
UC News works as a news aggregator and piles up the news in a single place from different sources across the web. The stories are filed under several topics that include “Recommended”, Cricket, Entertainment, and Gadgets. The app is run by Alibaba Group’s web division, which also runs the UC Browser.
The app leverages big data technology to learn about user interests and the news that you like the most to read about. This way it searched and offers relevant news that will interest the reader most. The UC news comes in English but also offers support for other regional languages. Users can change their language of choice by tapping on the three-line menu at the top right corner.
Reading local news via the UC News App
Users can customize the news options and categorize available to them in the UC News app. Different categories are organized by a “+” symbol. Tapping on it opens up the “Channel Edit” menu where users can select the different topics they would like to include. A total of 18 different news topics are available to users.
To add or remove a certain topic just press the “EDIT” button and choose accordingly. The app also has a contributor program called the We Media Program. When you first install and open the app, it asks you to select a language and then your interests. The App has a very clean interface with easy navigation.
You can easily switch from one channel to another with its tabbed navigation. See the + icon at the top right corner of the app. It has over 20 featured channels, including news, cricket, technology, entertainment, movies, lifestyle, and more.
