Arena of Valor is a MOBA style game, with a primary objective to work your way through enemy towers, defeating grunts and other opponents that you encounter on the way. The game has multiple modes, with the main three being Grand Battle, Valley Skirmish, and Abyssal Clash.

Arena of Valor can take some time to master, but it will be a piece of cake for anyone familiar with DOTA or Heroes of the Storm. Players control characters, referred to as heroes. And each of these heroes has a unique set of abilities. Heroes start the game at a low level and will earn gold and experience while climbing the ladder to progress.

Playing Arena of Valor

You can choose between various game modes, with 5v5, also known as Grand Battle or Ranked, being the most popular. This mode takes place on the Antaris Battlefield. Valley Skirmish is a three-versus-three mode, with just two towers on each side standing between teams and their cores. Solo Battle is a one-on-one competition with a single tower and core.

The selection of heroes in this Arena of Valor is amazing and immense. The heroes are divided into categories that each play different roles. The most notable difference is the type of damage a hero deals – some heroes deal with physical damage, which can be countered by the armor stat, whilst other heroes deal mainly with magic damage, which is countered by the magic resistance stat.

Arena of Valor starts players off with two of the 39 characters available. Unlocking more requires you to buy them or in-game gold. Through matches, achievements, and other rewards, but once you unlock a character it will stay unlocked. But you cant customize the characters as you do in Cyber Hunter.

Some heroes deal with both types of damage, and some deal ‘true’ damage, which cannot be countered by either armor or magic resistance. All heroes are classified as one of six categories, with some heroes overlapping multiple categories. Every game mode is available from the start with special mode Hook Wars relegated to weekends only.

Hook Wars is one of the entertainment game modes that are available to play every Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. The game map, Treasure Bay, is made up of two large connected vessels. There are no minions, turrets, or bases in this mode. Each player is able to use a Hook as a special ability, which can grab an enemy on the opposite boat or from long distances.
