Agar.io is a game where you live the life of a cell and aim to survive by devouring smaller than yourself cells to grow bigger and stronger. But beware of other bigger cells as they can instantly chow you down and erase you from the face of the Petrie dish.

The aim of the game is to eat the food that lies around stagnant and gain size. While avoiding bigger cells who are there to munch on smaller beings to grow bigger. As you ingest more and more food the size of your cell swells and you will become more stable and less prone to being eaten by others.

You can play Agar.io for free in your browser or download the app for Android if you prefer touchscreens by clicking on the download button above. The game features multiple modes and game types such as Classic, Battle Royal, and Rush. You can play Free-for-all (FFA), Battle Royale, Teams, Experimental, and Party Mode.

In the beginning, you are a tiny cell sitting in a vast expanse. As you move your mouse around or tap on your screen, your cell will automatically move towards the direction you point to. The game area is dotted with tiny, colored pellets. When your cell runs into pellets, it will consume them and grow larger. Eating pellets will also increase your score.

The Party mode allows you to make a private server for you and your friends. Before you start Playing, enter your nick, and it will appear in the middle of your cell. You can also enter certain names that will give your cell a unique skin, or appearance. For example, entering your name as “Earth” will make your cell look like the planet.

FFA is the endless gameplay in Agar.io, so you never win just get eaten by someone bigger. You can rise to the top of the in-game leaderboard. It’s a good choice to start with while you master controls. Battle Royale has the same contracting safe zone as most battle royale games. And also starts when a set number of players are in the lobby.

Unlike in FFA, where you’ll always start as the smallest cell, everyone starts on an even playing field, and the shrinking safe zone keeps games down to just five minutes.
